Register here to the webinar series on maximizing feed efficiency.
These sessions will help you to enhance nutrient utilization, reduce waste, and improve overall animal performance.
The second session will take place on 30 June and will feature Dr. Fabio Lima and Dr. José E. P. Santos.
Dr. Fabio Lima, DVM, M.Sc., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Livestock Health & Theriogenology at School of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis.
Fabio’s program focuses on improving the health, performance, and fertility of dairy cows. His work includes studies on nutritional strategies to improve the health, immunity, and reproduction of dairy cows during the transition period.
One of his current research efforts is to understand how dairy cow genomics modulates the heritable rumen microbiome and its impact on milk production and feed efficiency.
Dr. José E. P. Santos, DVM, M.Sc., Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Florida where he focuses on research and extension activities related to dairy cattle nutrition and reproduction.
His research is centered on developing technologies that improve dairy production efficiency, with a particular emphasis on peripartum health and reproductive performance - factors that significantly influence lactation outcomes and cow longevity. His work integrates basic cellular biology, whole-animal physiology, and practical on-farm applications that are widely implemented by dairy producers.
