The control of African Swine Fever via Sal CURB in-feed supplementation

ASF is a transboundary disease of significance and since large quantities of feed and feed ingredients used for swine diets are traded worldwide, there is an absolute need to prevent its spread through feed. The high number of animal exposures to this vector increases the likelihood of infection dramatically. All of the 7 above described ingredients have anti-viral properties and are included in the Sal CURB® Ba solution, hence it could be hypothesized that Sal CURB Ba is of interest in restricting the spread of African Swine Fever Virus via feed and feed ingredients.

In this context, the use of Sal CURB Ba is considered an integral part of the biosecurity measures in the feed chain, to reduce the risk of ASFv.
